Dear Precinct/PSA Community Council President:

I have decided to suspend the operation of the term limit provisions for Precinct/PSA Community Councils. These provisions are contained in paragraph F on page 8 of the Precinct/PSA Community Council Regulations.

Accordingly, incumbents who have served two or more consecutive two-year terms may run for any office, provided they are otherwise determined to be in good standing as outlined in the Precinct/PSA Community Council Regulations. All other provisions of the Regulations remain in effect and must be adhered to.

I also want to take this opportunity to issue a reminder that Councils are nonpartisan and shall not endorse or give the impression of endorsing any political candidate or political party. This includes the use of the NYPD logo or precinct contact information on flyers that announce political candidates as featured guests at Council meetings.

Please feel free to contact the DCCA Borough Liason Unit at (646) 610-7856 should you have any questions on these or other Community Council-related matters.

Sincerely,

Joyce Stephen
Deputy Chief
