Australia - Noise Cameras

Noise cameras are set to be introduced in Australia that will fine motorists for loud exhaust systems, blasting car stereo systems or sound off their horn.

The camera can record a 10-second clip of the offender when triggered by noise. Number recognition software will then identify the offender's license plate and issue a ticket by mail.

The cameras were developed by Acoustic Research Laboratories and they are planning to licence the technology to European countries.
